My Meeting with the Norwegian Ambassador Went Well

March 16th, 2006

After prolonged negotiations with Ambassador Trollheim, I agreed to move to Norway in May to teach at the University of Bergen in the department of Humanistic Informatics, on the condition that my title will be “Informatic Humanist” rather than “Humanist Informaticist.”

I wish we had one of those at Stockton! I’d hang out with it all day.

I should clarify — I’ll be on leave next year at Stockton, and visiting as associate professor of humanistic informatics at UiB. I’m looking forward to the year in Bergen, teaching and working on a book on emerging genres of electronic literature in the context of 20th century movements in avant-garde art and literature.
