Thanks to everybody for the all the messages welcoming our boy. He and Mom are doing great back home.

Given the lack of a FB announcement, I’m guessing you guys are struggling to pick the right name. On my walk to the train, I had a moment of inspiration. You should name him after one of the characters from Lost. Like Desmond. Or Jacob. Or Smoke Monster.

Sets for Book Layout
www.flickr.com
I finished putting together the sets of photos for the Implementation book today — not all of the decisions are made and we need to reshoot some photos, but you can now read most of the novel on photos. It was a fun but tough process selecting the photos. The book will be structured by installment, which function like chapters. We’ll probably aslo have some thematic layouts — for instance implementation stickers with other sticker art, implementation stickers with world landmarks, etc. serving as a sort of interstitial between some chapters.

had a great time with Aurora after her first school dance, going through her middle school yearbook and making predictions about each kid’s future by making snap judgements on the basis of their current yearbook picture. I had almost forgotten how much fun arbritrary profiling can be. By the way, the 80s are way back again. Now is the time to purchase stock in hair gel companies.

if the boy comes tomorrow he’ll share a birthday with his uncle Eric. That’d be pretty cool. Also, I won’t have to change the tickets for his first trip home to Chicago that I bought this morning. The form wouldn’t let me put “TBA” under date of birth. So there’s a lot of factors pulling for tomorrow.

Past the due date, as predicted. I told Jill that the baby and I have an agreement that the real contractions will start at about 11AM Monday, and the whole shebang will be wrapped up around 4PM — civilized, during regular work hours, fast, efficient, nearly painless delivery, almost certainly.
