Falling Into the Economic Chasm
www.nytimes.com
While I can’t say that I blame Obama for his cautious conservatism, borne out of his instinctive impulse to compromise with the Republicans and the Blue Dogs, I think Krugman is right. The stimulus wasn’t enough money spent in the right way, and if the American people hand the economy over to the Repubs, it will be the return of the long down for everyone but the rich.

While doing research for photo credits for the Implementation book — trying to dig up the names of various sculptures upon which stickers have been placed — I ran across this site, nice little sculpture walks through Bergen.

Stuck in Copenhagen for the evening due to a canceled flight. There are, I’ll admit, worse places to be stuck in, though I’m ready to see Jill and the kids and sleep in my own bed after a lot of travel this week.

Gave a presentation at the Irish Royal Academy in Dublin today — in a classic 18th century library. It was pretty cool, though I felt like I should been critiquing Johnathan Swift or something rather than talking about websites and databases.

Recent polls indicate that America is likely to get stuck in a hole, to let the right wing lead towards increasingly draconian disparity between the rich and the poor, but in exchange to enable the poor to smoke marijuana in increasingly legal ways. The rich will get richer, and the poor will get stoned.

had great fun with old man / new father Anders Fagerjord. He witnessed the birth of his son and turned 40 within 48 hours and then subsequently witnessed a pseudo-German Norwegian Oktoberfest. Poor guy, won’t sleep for the next three months. Congratulations on your son and condolences on your youth.
