Video Archives of Conferences
The last two conferences I attended both created video archives of the conference. Cool. You can be there even if you weren't. Here's the State of Play conference on law and virtual worlds, held a couple of weeks back at NYU law school, and this week's Digital Og Sosial conference from Bergen, including me reading from Implementation and giving a talk on The Network Novel. I hope that this is a trend that will continue. Just a few years back, creating a video archive of a conference was a fairly major hassle. While you still need to have a generous bandwith allowance, the task of production is much easier now. At DoS, one guy with a video camera and a powerbook was able to have an archive of each session posted on the web just minutes after each speaker was finished.
